Greene County Clerk Stuart Dowden has announced the Greene County Clerk is accepting applications/resumes for the full-time position of Election Board Assistant/Research, located in Bloomfield, Indiana, within the courthouse. Voter Registration is required to have both a Democrat and Republican in this office, and the Republican position is now open. The duties include, but are not limited to, processing voter registration applications, updating voter information, helping determine the supplies needed for elections, and assisting candidates filing for office. The chosen applicant would also be responsible for processing absentee voting applications, assisting the Election Board with tabulating voting totals, as well as helping to certify vote totals that will be sent to the Secretary of State’s office. Will also perform other duties as needed in the Clerk’s office. The position pays at the annual rate of $31,886.40. In late January, a Switz City man, who already had two criminal cases pending against him, was accused of calling a woman numerous times in violation of a protective order. He was charged with a Class A misdemeanor. Now he’s facing yet another charge for allegedly calling the woman 116 more times just since late January.
