Born at home in Worthington on February 5, 1939, at 9:45 a.m., Jack was the son of Garrett and Sylvia (Beale) Fulford. A lifelong resident of Worthington, he was proud of his small-town roots and the community that shaped him.

Jack graduated from Worthington-Jefferson High School in 1957 and soon after answered the call to serve his country as a medic in the United States Army during the Korean War. After returning home, Jack met the love of his life, Brenda Lou Sipes, and the two were married on April 17, 1965. For 60 years, Jack and Brenda built a life of partnership and devotion. Together they raised three children. Jack spent his career as a foreman with the Indiana Carpenters Union.

Jack was a proud member and past commander of the Worthington Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #7117, and also a member of the Worthington American Legion Post #106 . He cherished his time with fellow veterans and valued the camaraderie they shared. Outside of work and service, he enjoyed fishing on quiet mornings, evenings at the casino, collecting coins and stamps, and woodworking.

He will be deeply missed by his son, Brian Fulford; his daughter, Michelle (Jeff) Lacer; his grandchildren, Keith Fulford, William (Tracy) Grant, and Jake Grant; and great-grandchildren Ethan and Riley Grant. He also leaves behind nieces Melissa Fulford and Lisa (Terry) Koons.

Jack was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Brenda Lou Fulford, who passed away on October 1, 2025; his parents; his daughter, Vanessa Grant; siblings, Rex Fulford and Betty Key; and his nephew, Todd Fulford.
