Reverend H. Kenneth "Kenny" Adams

Reverend H. Kenneth "Kenny" Adams, 94, of Linton, went home to be with his Lord and Savior at 6:06 PM on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born on September 14, 1931, in Bedford, Indiana, to Edward and Jessie (Shanks) Adams, Kenny grew up with a deep respect for faith, family, and hard work - values that would shape his life's mission.

A proud 1950 graduate of Shawswick High School, he married the love of his life, Wynn Anderson, on April 14, 1952. Kenny then answered his country's call and served honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War. Following his service, he returned home and together they built a beautiful partnership - raising four daughters and running Adams Masonry Contracting in Bedford before Kenny received his divine calling to ministry.

That calling shaped the rest of his life. He first served as pastor of Williams First Baptist Church (1963-1970) and then as the pastor of Linton First Baptist Church from 1970 until his retirement in 1997. After stepping down from full-time ministry, he never truly retired - continuing to share God's word at churches across the area, including Springville, Bedford, Owensburg, and Fellowship Baptist in Linton.

Kenny's faith was steadfast and his compassion without limits. Whether behind a pulpit, at a fishing hole, or reading in his favorite chair, he served the Lord.

He is survived by his daughters Kathy (Jim) Dodd of Linton, Kristy (Mike) Busch of Carthage, MO, and Kenya Adams of Linton; six beloved grandchildren - Jaimee Goodman, Justin Dodd, Andrea (Blake) Loy, Timothy (Breann) Busch, Lancy (Bob) Shaw, and Kenzie (Adam) Porter; seventeen great-grandchildren, with another expected in February; one great-great granddaughter; and many extended family members, including a brother-in- law, Cameron (Hettie) Anderson and a sister-in-law, Rhea Anderson, both of Bedford.

Kenny was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife of 65 years, Wynn; his daughter Karen Lovelace; seven brothers; and one sister.

Funeral services will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton, of Walton Funeral Service, at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, with David Atkins officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.

Visitation will take place at the funeral home from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Wednesday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Englewood Baptist Church of Bedford, through the funeral home. Online condolences may be shared with the family at

Though his voice is now silent, Reverend Adams's message of faith, hope, and love will continue to echo through the lives he touched and the hearts he lifted throughout his 94 blessed years.
