Jackie “Jack” Keith Bucher

Jackie “Jack” Keith Bucher, 88, of Bloomfield, passed away on Friday, December 26, 2025 at University of Louisville hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.

Born August 1, 1937 in Linton, Indiana he was the son of Vernon and Kathryn E. (Baird) Bucher.

Jack was a 1955 graduate of Scotland High School and a graduate of Indiana State University with a degree in elementary education. He taught 6th grade at Bloomfield Elementary School for 38 years. Jack was a kind, generous person who loved spending time with his family, friends and neighbors. He especially loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and attending all their events that he could. Jack was a member of the Ore Branch Church of Christ for many years before it closed its doors and then attended services at the Bloomfield Church of Christ. Jack will always be remembered as such a light in this world to all who knew him.

Surviving relatives include: three sons, Adam (Laura) Bucher, Paul (Karen) Bucher and John (Kylee) Bucher; his grandchildren, Meaghan (Dace) Hartman, Kelsey (Miles) Wood, Caleb Bucher, Logan (Haley) Bucher, Emily (Ethan) Knepp, Brooklyn Bucher, Brianna Bucher and Bristol Bucher; his great grandchildren, Charlotte Hartman, Clay Hartman, Mazie Hartman, Mariah Hartman, Ryleigh Wood, Jedidiah Wood, Ellie Wood, Clint Wood, Beaureguard Wood, Braylee Bucher and Emma Bucher; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jyme Bucher on January 11, 2018, sister, Dianna Jane Long on August 20, 2010 and his parents.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4-8 P.M. at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Due to the anticipated cold weather, a walk-through viewing is requested. The funeral services for Jack will be private. The burial will be in Antioch cemetery in rural Bloomfield.
