Man to face charges for intimidation and battery

Charges were filed against a man who allegedly intimidated and battered a woman in Jasonville last fall and a summons was issued, but he was a no-show at his initial hearing in January and a warrant was issued for his arrest. At some point he landed in jail in another county and last Friday, he was transferred into the Greene County Jail.

Indianapolis – Acting U.S. Attorney John Childress announced Friday that Buster Hernandez was sentenced to 75 years in federal prison by U.S. District Judge Tanya Walton Pratt. Hernandez used sextortion and made death threats to at least 375 minor victims and he threatened to use explosive devices at Plainfield and Danville high schools. A list of usernames Hernandez used to communicate with victims is included in this story and anyone who believes they may have been a victim of sextortion by Hernandez is asked to contact the Indianapolis FBI Office.

Indianapolis, Ind. - Two women were taken to jail Saturday after getting caught allegedly stealing catalytic converters from disabled vehicles along Indianapolis area interstates. According to the Indiana State Police, the theft of catalytic converters from abandoned vehicles along central Indiana interstates is not uncommon and they are reminding motorists to only leave a vehicle abandoned if absolutely necessary and return to get it as soon as possible.

White County – Yesterday evening, around 8:20 p.m., Indiana State Police Radio Region One Dispatch received a 9-1-1 call of a vehicle traveling at approximately 5 mph on Interstate 65 northbound near the 189 mile-marker, in the right lane. An off-duty Jasper County Deputy located the vehicle near the 189 MM and attempted to make a traffic stop.

A lengthy investigation conducted by Indiana State Police Drug Enforcement Section (DES) detectives and Troopers of the ISP Bloomington District A.C.E.S. concluded with an arrest for dealing methamphetamine and an almost half-pound of methamphetamine was seized. The Indiana State Police had obtained information that Darrell Cox, 56, was dealing large amounts of methamphetamine in multiple counties.
