Bobby Lee Sinders, 39, and Daniel Allen Wilson, 35, both from Jasonville, were arrested by Officer Bobby Pierce of the Linton Police Department early Thursday, March 11.

Bobby Sinders was the driver of a gold Pontiac Bonneville that was pulled over at the intersection of State Road 54 and 9th Street NW in Linton by Officer Pierce early yesterday. Daniel Wilson was a passenger.

Officer Pierce said the license plate on the vehicle belonged to a maroon Ford Mustang and when he asked the two men for identification, they both said they didn’t have any ID with them.

A records check revealed that Sinders had been issued a state identification card and his license was suspended indefinitely – he has a prior judgement for driving while suspended in Greene County in January of this year. Daniel Wilson’s driver’s license was also suspended.

When asked about registration, Wilson said he and his girlfriend had recently purchased the vehicle and they took a plate off a Mustang that doesn’t run.

During the stop, Officer Pierce detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and asked the two to exit.

During a subsequent search of the vehicle, a hand-rolled cigarette that smelled strongly of marijuana was found in the driver’s seat. A smoking device with a burnt residue was found in the center console. Behind the front seats, a red and black backpack contained a couple of Ziploc bags and a plastic bottle with green plant material, a smoking device with white residue, another smoking device and a digital scale.

The plant material was identified as synthetic marijuana or “spice” and a smoking device field-tested positive for the presence of methamphetamine. Some items are being sent to an ISP Lab for analysis.

Sinders and Wilson both denied any of the items belonged to them and said they didn’t know anything illegal was in the vehicle.

Both were transported to the Greene County Jail. Sinders was booked in at 5:22 a.m. Wilson was booked in at 5:31 a.m. Both were being held without bond pending court appearance.

Sinders is facing preliminary charges of:

  • Possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony,

  • Possession of a controlled substance, a Class A misdemeanor,

  • Possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor,

  • Possession of paraphernalia, a Class C misdemeanor, and

  • Driving while suspended – a knowing violation with a prior conviction within 10 years, a Class A misdemeanor.

Wilson is facing preliminary charges of:

  • Possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony,

  • Possession of a controlled substance, a Class A misdemeanor,

  • Possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor, and

  • Possession of paraphernalia, a Class C misdemeanor.
