Specifically, Winkle pleaded guilty to five federal civil rights offenses for assaulting arrestees, and to six obstruction offenses for writing false reports to cover up the results.

Federal Grand Jury indicts man for the murder of a Terre Haute Police Detective who served as an FBI Task Force Officer

TERRE HAUTE – A federal grand jury in Indianapolis returned an indictment today charging a Terre Haute man with the murder of a federal officer, attempted arson of federal property, and using a firearm during a crime of violence causing death. The charges against Shane Meehan, 45, stem from the July 7, 2021 killing of Terre Haute Police Detective and FBI Task Force Officer Gregory Ferency. Meehan was previously charged by a federal criminal complaint filed on July 8, 2021.

Indianapolis – Acting U.S. Attorney John Childress announced Friday that Buster Hernandez was sentenced to 75 years in federal prison by U.S. District Judge Tanya Walton Pratt. Hernandez used sextortion and made death threats to at least 375 minor victims and he threatened to use explosive devices at Plainfield and Danville high schools. A list of usernames Hernandez used to communicate with victims is included in this story and anyone who believes they may have been a victim of sextortion by Hernandez is asked to contact the Indianapolis FBI Office.

Bloomfield women arrested by FBI for role in Capitol violence

Two area women were arrested Wednesday, February 24, on multiple charges in connection with the violence at the U.S. Capitol on January 6. According to FBI Indianapolis, both women are from Bloomfield.

Dona Sue Bissey, 52, and Anna Morgan-Lloyd, 49, Bloomfield, were taken into custody on charges that included knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority, violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds.

Information about their actions on January 6 have not yet been released.

Both were reported to have been booked into the Vigo County Jail. They are expected to appear in a federal courtroom on Friday morning for initial hearings.
