This afternoon the Indiana State Police confirmed they have concluded their investigation into an officer-involved shooting that occurred in late April in Jasonville that resulted in the death of Stephen Scott Wheeler and Greene County Prosecutor Jarrod Holtsclaw issued a statement releasing additional details about the incident and his conclusion that the officer was justified in using deadly force.

Felony charges filed against Lyons man, a former school employee, for child exploitation and possession of child porn

An investigation into child exploitation and possession of child porn by a school employee moved right along after personnel from a social media app submitted info regarding suspicious activity to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children who in turn shared the info with a detective from Bloomington who serves on the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, resulting in the arrest of a Lyons man last Wednesday. Following the arrest, the school confirmed the suspect was no longer employed at the school. Earlier today, the Greene County Prosecutor filed criminal felony charges against the suspect in Greene Circuit Court.

Former school employee arrested Wednesday is accused of sex crimes involving children

Around 5:30 p.m. yesterday/Wednesday, a man employed by a local school corporation was arrested and booked into the Greene County Jail on preliminary charges of felony possession of child pornography and child exploitation. He has since posted bond and been released from jail. According to the school’s superintendent, the man is no longer employed by the school.

A Linton man arrested in Sullivan County over the weekend is accused of leaving the scene of an accident, driving under the influence of a controlled substance and meth possession. He was already in trouble in Greene County and out on bond in two criminal cases for alleged drug dealing. Now his bond may be revoked and a warrant’s been issued for his arrest in Greene County, but he’s still in the Sullivan County Jail for now.

UPDATED with SENTENCING……… In Greene Superior Court, on his 58th birthday, a Bloomfield man was remanded to the custody of the Greene County Sheriff’s Department after a jury found him guilty of public nudity and public indecency. Terry J. Gilmore, a coach and businessman at the time of the incidents, was booked into the Greene County Jail at 2:05 p.m. after the verdicts were returned then was sentenced later in the month.

ARRESTED: Jasonville man accused of child molesting in one case, sending pornographic picture in another

A warrant was issued Thursday for the arrest of a Jasonville man accused of child molesting, a Level 3 felony. A second warrant for his arrest was issued Friday on a charge of disseminating matter harmful to minors, a Level 6 felony. He was taken into custody late Friday by an investigator from the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office.
