On December 12, a commercial turkey flock in Martin County was determined to be at high risk of HPAI exposure. To reduce the risk of disease spread, Martin1 was depopulated and has been quarantined. The Martin1 production site is associated with the Daviess1 flock that tested positive for the disease on December 11.

Holcomb is directing flags to be flown at half-staff in recognition of National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day to honor the lives lost when Japan attacked Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941. Flags should be flown at half-staff at the Indiana Statehouse from sunrise until sunset on Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2021. Gov. Holcomb also asks businesses and residents to lower their flags to half-staff.

INDIANAPOLIS – Chase Winkle, 35, a former officer with the Muncie Police Department, in Muncie, Indiana, pleaded guilty today to eleven civil rights and obstruction charges. Specifically, Winkle pleaded guilty to five federal civil rights offenses for assaulting arrestees, and to six obstruction offenses for writing false reports to cover up the results.

Saturday night pursuit from Greene County into Monroe County ends with crash and arrest

A wanted man took off and fled from GCSD deputies when he came into contact with them in eastern Greene County Saturday night and led officers from three departments in a pursuit that ended in Bloomington. During the pursuit, the suspect allegedly tried to hit a GCSD deputy head on and did hit a MCSD deputy in a Bloomington parking lot. No serious injuries were reported. The suspect is in custody and has been booked into the Greene County Jail.
