Sullivan County - On Wednesday, April 12, 2023, The Indiana State Police, with the assistance from the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Department, Sullivan City Police Department, and Shelburn Police Department, conducted an investigation after receiving information that a male and a female, both of Sullivan, were suspected of dealing narcotic drugs.
The Putnamville State Police Post and the National Insurance Crime Bureau want to ensure that the Sullivan County residents who were impacted by the tornado, receive legitimate information concerning contractors for cleanup and repair.
Dugger - On February 20, 2023, at approximately 5:30 p.m., Sullivan County Prosecutor Ann Mischler contacted the Indiana State Police Post Criminal Investigation Division requesting assistance with an alleged shooting that had occurred at 7681 East Laughlin Street in Dugger Indiana, for a domestic dispute between a husband and wife.
Sullivan County - Thursday, February 16, 2023, at approximately 8:20 p.m., Indiana State Police Trooper Austin Robertson was completing a traffic stop on State Road 48 near Hymera, when another passenger vehicle traveled past him.
Sullivan County - On January 10, 2023, at approximately 9:40 p.m., Trooper Austin Robertson of the Putnamville State Police Post, stopped a 2003 Buick for an equipment violation on County Road 890 South near County Road 600 East.
Sullivan County — December 8, 2022, will mark the ten-year anniversary of the unsolved homicide of 85-year-old Lowell R. Badger of rural Sullivan County. The retired farmer was found deceased at his rural Sullivan County home.
TERRE HAUTE – Elvis Medrano, 43, of Pharr, TX, was sentenced to 30 years in federal prison after being convicted of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine, cocaine, and MDMA, and being a felon in possession of ammunition following a 4-day jury trial in May of 2022. According to court documents and evidence offered in court, from spring of 2020 through his arrest on August 3, 2020, Medrano conspired with his co-conspirators to sell methamphetamine, cocaine, and MDMA throughout Southern Indiana, more specifically in Sullivan and Knox Counties.
Sullivan County, Ind. - On November 25, 2022 at approximately 3 PM, Sullivan County deputies responded to the Dugger area in regards to an unwanted guest, reportedly armed with a firearm.
Monday, November 14, 2022, at approximately 5:30 p.m., Trooper William Clark of the Putnamville State Police Post stopped a passenger vehicle on State Road 54 near Section Street in Sullivan, for exceeding the posted speed limit…. a search of the vehicle which located approximately 12 grams of methamphetamine, 67 hypodermic syringes, drug paraphernalia, anabolic steroids, and a large amount of small plastic baggies.
Last week a story was posted about the arrest on October 20 by LPD of a suspicious man who was asleep behind the wheel of a vehicle parked in a public place in Linton. The same man was arrested on October 12 in Sullivan County by ISP following a foot pursuit through several residential yards. He was accused of being in possession of syringes, cocaine, methamphetamine and bath salts. A few days later, he posted $2,800 and was released on bond only to get arrested in Greene County a few days after that. Last Friday, October 21, his bond was revoked in Sullivan County and a warrant for his arrest was issued out of Sullivan County. SULLIVAN COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces a road closure for State Road 159 near Pleasantville. Beginning on or around Monday, October 3, State Road 159 will be closed two and a half miles south of State Road 54. This closure will allow crews to complete a polymeric bridge deck overlay. The project is expected to take a week to complete, depending on the weather. The official detour is State Road 54 to State Road 59. Local traffic will have access up to the point of closure.

Nellie Yvonne ‘Connie’ Dayhoff, 88, of Linton, Indiana, went to Heaven with her family by her side, on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at Glenburn Senior Living in Linton. She was born on September 20, 1936 in Linton to Clifford William and Eva Mae (Blough) Lynch. Connie married the love of her life, John Dayhoff, Jr. on June 2, 1955.
