On December 12, a commercial turkey flock in Martin County was determined to be at high risk of HPAI exposure. To reduce the risk of disease spread, Martin1 was depopulated and has been quarantined. The Martin1 production site is associated with the Daviess1 flock that tested positive for the disease on December 11.

TERRE HAUTE – Elvis Medrano, 43, of Pharr, TX, was sentenced to 30 years in federal prison after being convicted of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine, cocaine, and MDMA, and being a felon in possession of ammunition following a 4-day jury trial in May of 2022. According to court documents and evidence offered in court, from spring of 2020 through his arrest on August 3, 2020, Medrano conspired with his co-conspirators to sell methamphetamine, cocaine, and MDMA throughout Southern Indiana, more specifically in Sullivan and Knox Counties.

Daviess County – February 8, 2021, at approximately 4:45 PM, the Indiana State Police were asked to investigate a fatal crash after two vehicles collided on I-69 at the 83-mile marker southbound in Daviess County. One driver was killed. The other driver was arrested - tests showed he had methamphetamine in his blood.
