TERRE HAUTE – Elvis Medrano, 43, of Pharr, TX, was sentenced to 30 years in federal prison after being convicted of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine, cocaine, and MDMA, and being a felon in possession of ammunition following a 4-day jury trial in May of 2022. According to court documents and evidence offered in court, from spring of 2020 through his arrest on August 3, 2020, Medrano conspired with his co-conspirators to sell methamphetamine, cocaine, and MDMA throughout Southern Indiana, more specifically in Sullivan and Knox Counties.

Tuesday pursuit involving several agencies ends with arrest of auto theft suspect

The suspect in multiple investigations of auto theft was arrested and booked into the Greene County Jail Tuesday evening after a pursuit that started around 5 p.m. in Greene County and traveled several highways and county roads in Greene, Martin and Daviess counties, involving law enforcement personnel from at least seven different departments. Late Tuesday night, lead investigators Sgt. Jordan Allor of the Greene County Sheriff's Department and Lt. Suspect in theft of truck and trailer from Greene County business last December was booked into Greene County Jail last week

The suspect accused of driving from northern Indiana into Greene County last December, stealing a pickup truck and trailer from a Greene County business, loading up his own vehicle on the trailer then driving off, was in jail in Daviess County when charges were filed against him in Greene County in February. He’s got a few cases pending against him in Daviess County. He was booked into the Greene County Jail last Tuesday, May 4, and he appeared in Greene Superior Court for his initial hearing last Thursday, May 6.

There’s a warrant out for a suspect who’s currently incarcerated in another county. He’s accused of driving into Greene County from up north, stealing a pickup truck and trailer from a Greene County business, loading up his own vehicle on the trailer and driving off. The truck and trailer were recovered in a GCSD investigation.

It started in Linton. A driver failed to pull over for a traffic stop then led officers on a cross-county chase though Switz City, Bloomfield and eastern Greene County, then onto I-69, and back off of I-69. By the time he ended up at the bottom of an embankment in Daviess County, he was surrounded by officers from four police departments from two counties, deputies from two sheriff’s departments and the Indiana State Police.
