Knox County – Wednesday night, March 22, Indiana State Police arrested Knox County Coroner Karen Donovan, 40, of Vincennes, for Official Misconduct, Possession of Methamphetamine, and Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance.
TERRE HAUTE – Elvis Medrano, 43, of Pharr, TX, was sentenced to 30 years in federal prison after being convicted of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine, cocaine, and MDMA, and being a felon in possession of ammunition following a 4-day jury trial in May of 2022. According to court documents and evidence offered in court, from spring of 2020 through his arrest on August 3, 2020, Medrano conspired with his co-conspirators to sell methamphetamine, cocaine, and MDMA throughout Southern Indiana, more specifically in Sullivan and Knox Counties.
Knox County – A criminal investigation conducted by the Indiana State Police and Vincennes City Police has resulted in the arrest of a Worthington man for Robbery and Intimidation.
Knox County – Earlier today, former Vincennes Police Chief Dustin Luking, 48, was arrested on several criminal charges stemming from a criminal investigation after money was discovered missing from the Vincennes Police Department. The criminal investigation was initiated in July 2019. Luking resigned from the Vincennes Police Department in October 2019.
Knox County – Indiana State Police initiated a criminal investigation in March after receiving a complaint from a Vincennes homeowner that a home improvement contractor had failed to make repairs after being paid over $19,000.
A former Jasonville man is accused of murdering his wife at their home in Oaktown yesterday. Officers found her body on Friday night and the suspect was taken into custody in Sullivan County about an hour later. He is currently incarcerated in the Knox County Jail.
Knox County – This afternoon at approximately 4:50, Master Trooper Brett Pool was patrolling US 50 near Mt. Zion Road when he drove up on a serious crash involving a farm tractor and a pickup truck.

A tragic crash involving two vehicles near Bicknell early Friday morning, December 18, claimed the lives of two senior students of White River Valley High School.
In a post on their Facebook page this afternoon, WRV High School expressed deepest condolences and prayers to the families and friends of Braiden Haton and Ethan Hayes, who were both killed in the crash.
The crash, which occurred around 7 a.m. Friday on State Road 67 approximately two miles north of Bicknell in Knox County, involved a dump truck and a passenger SUV.
The Knox County Sheriff’s Department reported the SUV had drifted left of center on the highway and crashed into the truck.
Haton and Hayes were occupants of the SUV. Both were pronounced deceased according to Knox County Coroner Brian Hagen.
The driver of the truck, Terry Fish of Linton, was not reported to have been injured.
WRV High School will have grief counselors available tomorrow morning, Saturday, December 19, from 10 a.m. until 12 noon for anyone that would like to talk to a counselor – enter the building through the front entrance.

She was born on September 20, 1936 in Linton to Clifford William and Eva Mae (Blough) Lynch. Connie married the love of her life, John Dayhoff, Jr. on June 2, 1955.
