Starting on or after Monday, March 13, crews will be conducting nighttime lane closures on I-70 eastbound and westbound, in order to shift traffic and install barrier walls. The restrictions will be between County Road 1100 and State Road 231. Traffic will be shifted to two, 11-foot lanes, both eastbound and westbound, separated by the barrier wall. These restrictions will be between 9:00 p.m. and 9:00 a.m. The transition to the new traffic configuration is expected to take about a week, weather permitting. This contract was awarded to Morphey Construction, Inc. for $3.6 million. The contract completion date is in early July 2023. INDOT reminds motorists to slow down, use caution and consider worker safety when traveling through a work zone.

Clara Alice Tapscott, 84, of Worthington, passed away peacefully on Tuesday evening, March 3, 2026, at Glenburn Senior Living in Linton, surrounded by her loving family. Born at home in Spencer on December 29, 1941, to Alvis and Nellie (Sheets) Speas, Clara grew up in a close-knit family that valued hard work, faith, and kindness - qualities she carried throughout her life.
John Peacock, recently of South Jordan, UT, peacefully passed away on February 24, 2026 of surgical complications. His son, daughter-in-law and grandsons were with him.
Alice A. (Myers) Anderson, of Linton, passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2026 at Autumn Trace Assisted Living. She was born on August 23, 1931 to Jabish Myers and Golda (Plummer) Myers. Alice and her beloved husband, Wayne, were married on September 24, 1949.
Lowell Wayne Moser, age 68, of Worthington, Indiana passed away Thursday, February 26. 2026 at his residence. He was born in Bloomington, Indiana on June 6, 1957 to Ernest and Thelma (Lindsey) Moser. Lowell worked as a handyman for many years and enjoyed tinkering with all kinds of things.
Charles B. Montgomery, Chuck to all those that knew him, passed away at Union Hospital on Saturday, February 28, 2026, surrounded by family.
Daniel L. Evans, 69, of Lyons passed away Friday February 27, 2026 at Greene County General Hospital in Linton.
George L. Powell, 81 of Jasonville, Indiana passed away Friday February 20, 2026 at his residence.
Dora Mae (Niceley) Jewell, 91, who loved to be called “Momma” by her children, Mamma by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren gained her precious Angel wings at 1:30 p.m. on February 25, 2026.
Kevin Dean Deckard, age 53, of Bloomington, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He had his wife and two sisters by his side.
Ralph Dewaine Bailey, age 84, of Linton, passed away peacefully at 2:30 pm on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born in Linton, IN on November 8, 1941, the son of Curtis & Lucile (Hopkins) Bailey.
