A former Jasonville man is accused of murdering his wife at their home in Oaktown yesterday. Officers found her body on Friday night and the suspect was taken into custody in Sullivan County about an hour later. He is currently incarcerated in the Knox County Jail.

Meth dealer recently sentenced, now in prison until 2029

After a weeks-long investigation, officers of the Greene County Drug Task Force and an investigator from the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office arrested a suspected methamphetamine dealer last August. She was charged with several felonies in two criminal cases and was held in lieu of $100,000 total bond. Her case concluded on May 18 when she was sentenced to prison. She’s now in DOC custody with a projected release date in August of 2029.

Per the President’s order, flags should be flown at half-staff from now until sunset on May 30, 2021. Gov. Holcomb also asks Hoosier businesses and residents to lower their flags to half-staff on Sunday.

Now in its 11th year, the national observance is dedicated to raising awareness about the dangers and consequences of distracted driving, as well as reminding motorists about the importance of paying attention to the road. “There’s only one task we should be focused on when behind the wheel and that’s safe driving – everything else can wait,” Gov. Holcomb said. “By making a commitment to always pay attention to the road, we all work together to save lives.”
