In a post on their Facebook page this afternoon, WRV High School expressed deepest condolences and prayers to the families and friends of Braiden Haton and Ethan Hayes, who were both killed in the crash.
The crash, which occurred around 7 a.m. Friday on State Road 67 approximately two miles north of Bicknell in Knox County, involved a dump truck and a passenger SUV.
The Knox County Sheriff’s Department reported the SUV had drifted left of center on the highway and crashed into the truck.
Haton and Hayes were occupants of the SUV. Both were pronounced deceased according to Knox County Coroner Brian Hagen.
The driver of the truck, Terry Fish of Linton, was not reported to have been injured.
WRV High School will have grief counselors available tomorrow morning, Saturday, December 19, from 10 a.m. until 12 noon for anyone that would like to talk to a counselor – enter the building through the front entrance.

Ella Rose Bredeweg passed peacefully surrounded by her family and loved ones on Monday, April 22, 2024 at Autumn Trace in Linton, Indiana. She would have turned 94 next month. She was born May 1, 1930, at home in Owen County, Indiana. Ella Rose was the daughter of Ernest and Fern (Wells) Landis.

Linda Sue Word, 70, of Bloomfield, Indiana, passed away peacefully, at Greene County General Hospital on Saturday, April 13 th , 2024. She was born on December 2nd, 1953, in Vincennes, Indiana, to Paul Allen and Wilma Jean (Tislow) Howell. Linda married Alvin Dwight Word on September 26, 1997.

Mary Ann Pickett, age 91 of Linton, passed away peacefully at 6:06 pm on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at Glenburn Home in Linton. She was born in Florida on January 24, 1933, the daughter of Hiram and Nora (Abbott) Leviner.
Branden Douglas Benson, 31, of Bloomfield, Indiana, went to Heaven on Thursday, April 11, 2024 at his home. He was born on August 25, 1992 in Centerville, Iowa to Lawrence Benson, Jr. and Paula (Smith) Smothers. Branden married Chelsey (Plummer) Benson on September 25, 2021.
Oral ‘Kay’ Sargent, 90, of Sandborn, Indiana, went to Heaven, on Monday, April 8, 2024 at Parkview Village Christian Care in Odon, Indiana. He was born on December 27, 1933 in Burns City, Indiana to Garrett and Farrel A. (Baker) Sargent. Kay married the love of his life, Carolyn L. (Peden) Sargent on July 3, 1953.
