In a post on their Facebook page this afternoon, WRV High School expressed deepest condolences and prayers to the families and friends of Braiden Haton and Ethan Hayes, who were both killed in the crash.
The crash, which occurred around 7 a.m. Friday on State Road 67 approximately two miles north of Bicknell in Knox County, involved a dump truck and a passenger SUV.
The Knox County Sheriff’s Department reported the SUV had drifted left of center on the highway and crashed into the truck.
Haton and Hayes were occupants of the SUV. Both were pronounced deceased according to Knox County Coroner Brian Hagen.
The driver of the truck, Terry Fish of Linton, was not reported to have been injured.
WRV High School will have grief counselors available tomorrow morning, Saturday, December 19, from 10 a.m. until 12 noon for anyone that would like to talk to a counselor – enter the building through the front entrance.

Harry Lon Shake, 96, of Sandborn, Indiana passed away on April 15, 2026 at home. He was born September 14, 1929, in Sandborn, Indiana, to Sherman and Viola (Watt) Shake.
Fumiko “Amy” Miller, 82, of Sullivan, IN passed away Monday, April 13, 2026 at Envive Nursing Home. She was born in Okinawa, Japan on January 27, 1944.

She was born in Linton, IN on June 14, 1951 to Cleal & Eva Ruth (Wellington) Stone who died in 1956. Then was proudly given the wonderful parents Galen & Georgia Lee (Wellington) White.
Alan Dale Moody, 76, of Worthington, Indiana, went to Heaven on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at his residence. He was born on October 30, 1949, in Linton, Indiana, to Marion Jolly and Leona Marie (Blanton) Moody. Alan married his loving wife Barbara ‘Jean’ (Musgrave) Moody on October 30, 1970.
Rex Dean Tuttle, age 94, of Linton, passed away peacefully at 1:55 pm on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Linton, IN on December 9, 1931, the son of Elmer & Vivian (Sims) Tuttle.
Gilbert “Gib” Ray Haywood, 88, of Mineral City peacefully passed away Friday April 10, 2026 at his home surrounded by family.
B. Jack Shelton, 90, of Linton, Indiana, passed from this life on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Glenburn Home in Linton. He was born on September 16, 1935, in Linton, Indiana, to John Everett and Jessie ‘Grace’ (Tincher) Shelton. On February 23, 1958, Jack married Sonna L. (Kendall) Shelton.
Marilyn L. Dallaire, 72, of Bloomfield, Indiana, went to Heaven on Sunday, April 5, 2026 at her home. She was born on November 13, 1953 in Washington, Indiana to Odell Lee and Dorothy Louise (Cox) Small. Marilyn married her loving husband, George Dallaire on June 3, 1995.
Jacqueline Sue Gilstrap, 72, of Dugger, IN passed away at her residence Wednesday, April 1, 2026. She was born in Coshecton, Ohio the daughter of George A. Dilley and Dorothy F. Angle Dilley.
