Wallace Brothers trash service in Greene County sold to Rumpke
/Some Southern Indiana Homes, Businesses Could Have New Trash Hauler
BLOOMFIELD, Indiana – December 9, 2022 – Homes and businesses in four Southern Indiana counties will see a new trash hauler collecting their trash this week.
Wallace Bros announced on December 5 that it sold certain waste collection assets including customers in Greene, Martin, Knox and Daviess counties to a fellow family-owned company Rumpke Waste & Recycling. Rumpke began servicing the customers this week and assume operations of the Wallace Bros Harvest Church Road transfer station.
“We’ve seen amazing growth recently, and we want to ensure our customers receive the friendly, on-time service we promised,” said Larry Wallace, owner of Wallace Bros. “By transitioning these customers to Rumpke, they will continue to receive the same high-level service while allowing the Wallace Bros team to continue to serve the rest of the Wabash Valley.”
Wallace added that several of the Wallace Bros team members joined the Rumpke team to help with continuity and to make it a smooth transition for customers.
“Wallace Bros has a great reputation in the region, and we want to uphold that,” said Eric Curtis, region vice president, Rumpke Waste & Recycling. “We are glad to have the Wallace Bros team members join Rumpke. Their knowledge of the customers coupled with our more than 90 years of experience in the waste industry will be a great combination.”
In addition to seeing familiar faces servicing customers, Curtis said that rates and service days will initially remain unchanged, and customers will soon receive a mailer from Wallace Bros and Rumpke explaining additional details of the transition. In the meantime, if customers have questions, they can contact Rumpke at 1-800-828-8171.
Rumpke currently operates a transfer station in Orange County, Indiana outside of Paoli, a landfill and hauling operation in Jackson County, Indiana and will open a transfer station and recycling operation in Monroe County in early 2023. For more information, visit www.rumpke.com.
