Public invited to Christmas Open House at the Courthouse Friday to benefit children in the court system

Gift baskets, home decor, gift cards, tool kits, and much more are up for grabs at the annual Voices for Kids silent auction this week. 

The auction, sponsored by Greene County’s Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), will be held Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the first floor of the Greene County Courthouse. 

“All proceeds will go towards abused/neglected children in the Greene County child welfare system,” said Greene County CASA director Amber Spicer. “It is important to support CASA as these children often do not have everything they need/want at home or while in foster care. We strive to make sure these children live a life that is normal and healthy while also being given opportunities that they might not otherwise receive.”

Entertainment is scheduled during the event. Bloomfield Elementary second graders will perform at 9:30 a.m. followed by Bruce Borders at 11 a.m. Refreshments will also be available during the event.
