Donna Rowena Miller

Donna Rowena Miller, beloved daughter of Vernon and Lenore (Axe) Carrell, entered this world on December 28, 1930, and entered her Heavenly home on December 5, 2025 having touched countless lives with her kindness, devotion, and steadfast faith.

Donna worked for several years at NSWC Crane, where her dedication and quiet strength made a lasting impact. Yet, her greatest joy was found in serving the Lord and others. Alongside her husband, Ralph, she embraced the calling of a minister’s wife with grace, humility and a heart fully committed to service.

A woman of many gifts, Donna was especially known for her extraordinary talent in the kitchen. Her homemade noodles and pies were cherished by all, and she lovingly made and gifted more than 1,000 of her famous cheeseballs over the years. She served faithfully at the Bloomfield First Baptist Church and was formerly active in the Ever Ready Helpers group. There, she helped prepare meals for the Rotary Club, raising funds that contributed to the cabinets for the church’s Christian Life Center – an example of her servant’s heart and her desire to give back to the community she loved.

Donna also had a lifelong passion for sports. Whether cheering for the Indiana Pacers, the Indiana Hoosiers, or the Indianapolis Colts, she watched every game with enthusiasm and a true fan’s spirit.

Above all, Donna adored her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her greatest earthly treasurers. She poured love into each of them, always putting the Lord first and allowing His love to shine through her gentle words, warm smile, and sweet, tender spirit. Donna was deeply loved by all who knew her. Her faith was unwavering, her heart was generous, and her presence brought comfort, joy, and peace. Her legacy of love, service, and faith will continue to inspire all who were blessed to share in her life.

Surviving relatives are her daughters Kathy Mumma (Dean), Brenda Flanagin (Randy), and Kathy Neill (Garry) all of Bloomfield. Surviving grandchildren are Brad Myers of Linton, Bryan Myers (Becky) of Bloomfield, Brent Myers of Dayton, Ohio, Leslie Copp (Justin) of Odon, Nathan Neill (Ashley) of Bloomfield, Jonathan Neill (Kyle) of Ellettsville, Rob Miller (Diana) of Tampa, Florida and Judy Miller of Decatur, Illinois. Also surviving are 21 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Jim Dobson, second husband Ralph Miller, son Marshall Miller, and daughter Julie Miller and her parents.

Services will be held at 12:00 noon Dec. 12 at the Bloomfield First Baptist Church. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow at the Calvertville Cemetery.

The family extends a special thanks to Meagan, Trish, and Josie of Heart to Heart Hospice for their wonderful care and compassion.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Donna’s name may be given to the Bloomfield First Baptist Church.
