Man in black with fedora and cane barks at people then scuffles with officers

When an LPD officer responded to a Sunday night report of a man in black wearing a fedora and carrying a cane while blocking highway traffic and barking at people, a scuffle ensued and the suspect allegedly tried to get hold of the officer’s weapon while threatening to kill him. With assistance from a bystander, the suspect was handcuffed then jailed.

Buckle Up: Click It or Ticket  campaign starts now, through June 6

INDIANAPOLIS — On average, more than 90 percent of motorists can be found wearing their seat belts on any given day. Unfortunately, the small percentage of people who choose not to buckle up make up a disproportionate amount of the fatalities that occur every year on Indiana roads. It’s a concern that more than 200 Indiana police agencies will be working to address this spring by participating in the national Click It or Ticket enforcement campaign. Now until June 6, officers will be out in greater numbers seeking to educate motorists about the importance of wearing a seat belt.

UPDATE: President Biden's initial Peace Officers Memorial Day proclamation indicated the flag should be flown at half-staff on Saturday, May 15, 2021. That is the normal protocol for most years in accordance to “4 U.S. Flag Code § 7”. However, there is an exception to that protocol that reads, “unless that day is also Armed Forces Day.” This year May 15 is also Armed Forces Day and according to U.S. Flag Code, the flag should be flown at full-staff. President Biden has updated his proclamation………. IN CUSTODY: Suspect accused of brutally beating a man with a club in March

UPDATE with ARREST: Scott Douglas Stahl, 43, Bloomfield, is in custody. Stahl was booked into the Greene County Jail yesterday, Thursday, May 13, at 5:51 p.m. Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy Terry Wade was the arresting officer. Stahl is accused of brutally beating another man with a club last March. Since a warrant was issued for his arrest on March 25, Stahl was believed to be hiding out or on the run while law enforcement was actively looking for him. The warrant remained outstanding until yesterday.

Warrant issued for driver with history of driving while suspended

A driver who has a history of driving while suspended was arrested on May 8 by a BPD officer who made it clear the driver wasn’t going to get a break. The driver bonded out of jail and was supposed to be in court early this morning. He was a no show so now there’s a warrant out for his arrest.
