A driver who has a history of driving while suspended was arrested on May 8 by a BPD officer who made it clear the driver wasn’t going to get a break. The driver bonded out of jail and was supposed to be in court early this morning. He was a no show so now there’s a warrant out for his arrest.

Jeremy Paige Kohn, 35, Bloomfield, was arrested by Lt. Marvin Holt of the Bloomfield Police Department early last Saturday, May 8. Kohn was booked into the Greene County Jail at 12:29 a.m. Saturday.

Lt. Holt was sitting in the area of Spring Street between South Lewis Street and South John Street, the Dairy Queen area, when a GCSD deputy advised he’d seen Kohn driving a white Ford-150 pulling into Huck’s in Bloomfield. So Lt. Holt stayed in the location and soon he saw the white Ford pickup turn south onto John Street and the officer moved to follow. At one point, Kohn drove directly into the view of the officer with the officer’s headlights shining on Kohn as he passed by. A traffic stop was initated at Mechanic and South Seminary streets.

Kohn allegedly stuck his head out the window and asked the officer to not take him to jail. In a probable cause affidavit prepared by Lt. Holt, he said he advised Kohn that he’s been told several times and he’s been arrested several times for driving while suspended, and that he’s been given every bit of information about the steps he needs to take to get his license back. But Kohn continues to drive while suspended.

Lt. Holt noted that during the inventory required before Kohn’s vehicle was towed, he saw several new amplifiers and new stereo equipment mounted and in working condition. Kohn allegedly said he had purchased these items. Lt. Holt asked him why he didn’t put that money toward his tickets. Then Lt. Holt said he was tired of giving Kohn breaks and he was going to jail.

Kohn was arrested by Lt. Holt for driving while suspended in May and July of 2020, and he was arrested by BPD Officer Brittany Ingram in February of 2020 for driving while suspended and he has another conviction for driving while suspended back in 2013.

Kohn’s bond was set at $1,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. He posted $100, was released and given a court date on a charge of driving while suspended – a knowing violation with a prior conviction within 10 years, a Class A misdemeanor.

His court date was this morning, but he failed to appear so a warrant was issued.
