Four-year-old child and two drivers injured in head-on crash involving three vehicles

Three people, including a four-year-old child, were injured in a head-on crash Wednesday near Jasonville that involved three vehicles. All of the injured were first transported to GCGH then the child and one driver were airlifted to other hospitals.

Deputy Jordan Allor of the Greene County Sheriff’s Department, the investigating officer, responded to the scene along with other personnel from GCSD, the Jasonville Police Department, Wright Township Fire Department, Linton Fire Department and the Greene County Ambulance Service. AirEvac 17 and IU Health Lifeline also assisted.

Deputy Allor reported Jason Ortega, 35, Linton, was driving a blue 1999 GMC 1500 pickup truck northbound on State Road 59 north of County Road 700 West near Jasonville when he traveled left of center and sideswiped another vehicle driven by Billy Williams.

Billy Williams, 63, Oaktown, was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado southbound on SR 59, pulling a New Holland square baler, when he was sideswiped by Ortega’s vehicle.

Ortega’s truck then hit another vehicle head-on that was driven by Patricia McAdams, 32, Carlisle. McAdams was driving a 2017 Dodge Journey southbound on SR 59. McAdams had a four-year-old passenger on board.

Deputy Allor said Jason Ortega was transported to Greene County General Hospital by Greene County Rescue.

Patricia McAdams and her juvenile passenger were also transported to Greene County General Hospital by the Greene County Ambulance Service then both were flown to other hospitals via air ambulances.

Billy Williams and one passenger with him were treated on the scene and signed releases declining further medical treatment.

No additional information about the extent of the injuries or the conditions of the injured has been released.
