An ongoing investigation by the Greene County Drug Task Force yielded evidence on two individuals suspected of dealing methamphetamine and an LPD officer reported they were both arrested over the weekend. Bond for one suspect has been set at $50,000 cash only and bond for the other suspect has been set at $30,000 cash only.

Meth dealer sentenced to 18 years in Indiana Women’s Prison, with eight years suspended

When a Linton woman was arrested last September as a result of an investigation by the Greene County Drug Task Force, a deputy reported 169 grams of methamphetamine had been thrown out the window of her vehicle during a traffic stop. In Greene Circuit Court last week, she was sentenced to 18 years in the Indiana Women’s Prison with eight years suspended.

Suspect in theft of truck and trailer from Greene County business last December was booked into Greene County Jail last week

The suspect accused of driving from northern Indiana into Greene County last December, stealing a pickup truck and trailer from a Greene County business, loading up his own vehicle on the trailer then driving off, was in jail in Daviess County when charges were filed against him in Greene County in February. He’s got a few cases pending against him in Daviess County. He was booked into the Greene County Jail last Tuesday, May 4, and he appeared in Greene Superior Court for his initial hearing last Thursday, May 6.

UPDATE: Vigo County Sheriff's Department seeking info on missing woman

Yesterday, Monday, May 10, Vigo County Sheriff John Plasse announced that the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office missing person Jessica Nascimbene had been located. Jessica’s vehicle was located last Friday evening in Clay County on State Road 59, down a steep ravine and submerged in water. Jessica was located in her vehicle and was found to be deceased. It appears Jessica‘s vehicle left the roadway in an apparent motor vehicle accident prior to Friday evening. The investigation is ongoing. The sheriff offered the thoughts and prayers from VCSD to Jessica‘s friends and family.

GCSD reports no injuries in Monday morning semi rollover crash

The ramp from State Road 445 onto I-69 southbound in eastern Greene County was closed for a few hours Monday after a semi-tractor and trailer rollover crash at 10:34 a.m. Deputies from the Greene County Sheriff’s Department responded along with personnel from the Indiana State Police, Center-Jackson Fire Department, the Greene County Ambulance Service and Bland Towing. GCSD Deputy James Carpeter, the investigating officer, reported no injuries.

UPDATE: Toby Lee Chandler, 25, Spencer, the suspect accused of felony stalking in Worthington, was arrested last night, Sunday, May 9, by Worthington Deputy Marshal Ryan Montgomery. Around 9 p.m., Chandler was booked into the Greene County Jail where he’s being held without bond. In addition to two warrants issued for his arrest in Greene County, Chandler, who is a convicted sex offender, is wanted on a couple of warrants issued out of Owen County for sex offender registration violations…….. Suspect arrested after stolen vehicle was reported to be on I-69 in Greene County

Monroe County - On Saturday, May 8, 2021, at approximately noon, the Indiana State Police Region 3 Dispatch received a call from the Henderson Police Department in Henderson, Kentucky advising that they were investigating a stolen vehicle by a male suspect that took a vehicle for a test drive from a dealership in their jurisdiction and never returned with the vehicle. Further information revealed that the vehicle was a 2019 Chevy Equinox that had Kentucky license plates, and was being driven by a male. Henderson Police also believed the vehicle was currently traveling north on I-69 near the 92-mile marker in Greene County.
