Teen driver accused of OVWI
/A teen driver stopped for driving left of center was arrested and has been charged with OVWI with a BAC of .155.
David Malcolm Gamble, 18, Worthington, was arrested by Lt. Marvin Holt of the Bloomfield Police Department early Sunday, April 25.
Gamble was the driver of a tan 2002 Chevrolet Silverado that was stopped at 2:54 a.m. on Sunday, April 25, for driving left of center near Furnace Road and US 231 in Bloomfield.
Lt. Holt reported Gamble showed signs of impairment including poor balance, poor dexterity and slurred speech. Gamble allegedly staggered from the vehicle and had to lean against a vehicle to maintain his balance.
Gamble allegedly failed field sobriety testing and was transported to the Greene County Sheriff’s Department. Gamble agreed to take a chemical test – results showed he had a blood alcohol concentration of .155. The legal limit is .08.
Gamble was booked into the Greene County Jail at 4:08 a.m. with bond set at $4,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. He posted $400 and was released later the same day.
Gamble retained an attorney and waived his initial hearing.
He has been charged with:
Operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a Class C misdemeanor,
Operating a vehicle with an alcohol concentration equivalent to .15 or more, a Class A misdemeanor, and
Operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person, a Class A misdemeanor.
