Boil order remains in effect for Linton Water customers

Water service is expected to be restored momentarily following a water main break that impacted pressure throughout the City of Linton's water system. According to city officials, crews have been working to address the break and restore normal operations after the incident caused a system-wide loss of pressure.

While water service is expected to return shortly, all customers of the Linton Water Department will remain under a boil order until further notice. As a precaution, residents and businesses should bring water to a rolling boil for at least one minute before using it for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, making ice, or preparing food.

Three missing juveniles located safely

Three juveniles reported missing have been located safely, according to local authorities. Earlier in the day, the Jasonville Police Department requested the public's assistance in locating 14-year-old Amelia Powell, who was reported as a runaway after being last seen in the Jasonville area. At the same time, the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office was seeking information on siblings Zachariah Masey, 16, and Savanna Masey, 14, who had left the Dugger area during the overnight hours and were believed to be traveling on bicycles.
