Jasonville man faces domestic battery, confinement charges following domestic disturbance

A Jasonville man faces felony charges after police responded to a reported domestic disturbance early June 12.

According to a probable cause affidavit, officers with the Jasonville Police Department were dispatched shortly after 6 a.m. to a residence on North Horace Street following reports of an ongoing domestic altercation.

Police arrested Caleb A. Parker, 20, of Jasonville. He was preliminarily charged with criminal confinement, a Level 6 felony; domestic battery committed in the presence of a child less than 16 years of age, a Level 6 felony; and interference with reporting a crime, a Class A misdemeanor. No bond was allowed at the time of his arrest.

According to court documents, a witness contacted 911 and reported Parker was allegedly being aggressive toward a female victim. When officers arrived, they reported hearing a woman inside the residence yelling for Parker to move and let her leave.

The affidavit alleges the vicmtimtold officers Parker grabbed her by the shirt, pushed her into a wall, threw her down, and prevented her from leaving the residence. Investigators reported Parker admitted to standing in a doorway to stop her from leaving.

Authorities also allege Parker took the victim’s phone after she called 911. Officers later recovered the victim’s phone and keys from Parker's pockets during a search following his arrest.

Court documents state a child present at the residence provided information to officers about what had occurred. Investigators also reviewed a 911 open-line call in which a woman could allegedly be heard repeatedly yelling for someone to leave her alone while a child cried in the background.

Parker was transported to Greene County General Hospital for evaluation before being booked into the Greene County Jail.

He is scheduled to appear in Greene Superior Court on June 16.
