Sue Ann Booker
/Sue Ann Booker, 88, of Dugger, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family at her daughter's home in Linton. Born on December 28, 1937, in Linton to Hermus and Bonnie (Schubla) Duncan, Sue was a proud lifelong resident of the area. A 1955 graduate of Dugger Union High School, she carried with her a strong sense of community and devotion that shaped the rest of her life.
Sue worked at General Electric in Linton, but her greatest and most cherished role was that of a mother and caregiver. She poured her heart into raising her four children, creating a home filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support. Her family was the center of her world, and she took immense pride in each of them.
A member of Dugger First Baptist Church for many years, Sue found joy in her faith and in serving others, especially through teaching Sunday School. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and BYKOTA, forming friendships and connections that meant so much to her throughout the years.
Sue loved shopping trips, keeping up with her favorite finds on QVC, and relaxing with her beloved soap operas. These everyday pleasures brought her comfort and happiness, often shared with family or friends by her side.
She leaves behind a loving legacy in her son, Terry (Tracy) Booker; her daughters, Tammy Brown, Lisa (Emery) Harris, and Kecia (John) Kenworthy; and her twelve grandchildren: Tyler Booker (Carla), Trysten Booker, Corey Mitchell, Donnie Myers (Jennifer), Natosha Behrendt (Tommy), Joshua Harris (Lillian Zamora), Ethan Harris (Christina), Ciara Dailey (Tyler), Kelsie Mowery (Sabastian), Savannah Williams (Bobby), Josha Kenworthy (Thomas Arnold), and John Kenworthy. Sue was also blessed with nineteen great-grandchildren, with two more expected later this year - continuing a family she loved so deeply, and five great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Murle G. Booker; a great-grandchild, Maison Myers; and two great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Mitchell and Ryker Harris.
Sue will be remembered for her gentle heart, her steady presence, and the deep love she gave so freely to her family. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the generations she helped shape.
A funeral service to celebrate Sue's life will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton, of Walton Funeral Service, at 1:00 PM on Saturday, June 27, 2026, with Jeff Fulk officiating. Burial will follow at Woodward Cemetery in Dugger.
