Loren Ray Holtsclaw
/Loren Ray Holtsclaw, 89, of Bloomfield passed away peacefully at 10:58 P.M. Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at his home.
Born May 24, 1937 in Bloomfield, Indiana, he was the son of Franklin Thomas and Forrest (Williams) Holtsclaw. He grew up a member of Sharkey Church; Loren served in the Navy on the USS Coral Sea from 1955 to 1959. He met and married his love Susan Jo Floyd in the Furnace Christian Church on September 3, 1961, where they attended church, they later became members of Antioch Christian Church. Loren worked at JL Wilson Construction and retired from Westinghouse/ABB. For over 50 years he was a member of the I.O.O.F Lodge, he loved caring for his family especially his grandkids and great grandkids; you could always find him attending their sporting events.
Survivors include his two daughters, Sarah Holtsclaw of Bloomfield, Julie Boulay (Tim) of Maryland, five granddaughters, Katie Stierwalt (Cody), Candice Raye Arford (Jarod), Jackie Boulay, Lauren Garcia-Clark (Angela), Elizabeth Boulay, one grandson, Stephen Walker, three great grandsons, Caden Jo Vineyard, Lincoln Stierwalt, Castle Thomas Arford, one great granddaughter, Remy Stierwalt; along with several nieces and nephews. Thank you to Sarah and Candice for making the last two years bearable.
Loren was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Dorothy Parkes, Correne Huffman, Louise Hall, two brothers, Dale Holtsclaw, Max Holtsclaw and his wife.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. on Monday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Pastor Jeff Rockey officiating. Interment will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Public visitation will be held from 4 to 8 P.M. on Sunday and 11 A.M. Monday until the hour service at Jenkins Funeral Home.
The family ask any memorial donations in Loren’s name be given to the Shawnee Theater in Bloomfield.
