Kathy Karanell Thacker

Kathy Karanell Thacker, 78, of Linton, passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at Glenburn Home in Linton.

Born June 27, 1947 in Washington, Indiana, she was the daughter of Max and Barbara (Hill) Griffith.

She was a homemaker and member of the Switz City Full Gospel Church. Kathy was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed helping care for her grandchildren over the years. She worked for several years at the Linton Wal-Mart where she developed lasting friendships.

Surviving relatives include: her children, Sheryl Yake (Brian), Kimberly Clapp and James Ryan Thacker (Missi); her grandchildren, Heather, Josh, Kelsey, Wyatt, Travis, Dustin, James Cody, Gabriel, Cage, Lindsie, Caleb, MacKinzie, Josie, Blaine and Ryley; seventeen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Willard Thacker on September 22, 2023, her brother, Herschel Griffith and her parents.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Lyons, with Rev. Sam Hill officiating. Interment will follow in Prairie Chapel Cemetery in rural Lyons.

Public visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday and from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
