Daryl Baker, age 72, of Bedford, Indiana, passed away peacefully at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, June 19, 2026, at Magestic Care in Bedford. He was born January 19, 1954, in Linton, Indiana, a son of Frank Baker, Jr. and Christine Baker Gurton (Squires).

Daryl enjoyed watching television and loved listening to transistor radios, hobbies that brought him simple joys each day.

He is survived by his cousins, Gregory Squires, Jr., Carrie Smith, Mitch Hurrell, Sarah Hancock, Marsha Day, Jeff Williams, Gregory Williams, and Randall Rasner; and several loving friends and family at Magestic Care.

He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his grandparents: Frank Sr. and Alma Baker, and Gayle Squires and Thelma (Cuvelier).

Graveside services will be held at Fairview Cemetery at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, June 23, 2026.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Welch & Cornett Funeral Home of Walton Funeral Service Inc.
