Boil order remains in effect for Linton Water customers

Water service is expected to be restored momentarily following a water main break that impacted pressure throughout the City of Linton's water system.

According to city officials, crews have been working to address the break and restore normal operations after the incident caused a system-wide loss of pressure.

While water service is expected to return shortly, all customers of the Linton Water Department will remain under a boil order until further notice. The boil order will remain in effect until water samples taken by the water department have been tested, are clear of bacteria, and meet acceptable standards.

As a precaution, residents and businesses should bring water to a rolling boil for at least one minute before using it for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, making ice, or preparing food.
