Bloomington – Lieutenant Paul Bucher has named Trooper Caleb Garvin as Trooper of the Year. Trooper Garvin is a 2008 graduate of Eastern Greene High School and is originally from Bloomfield. He graduated from the Indiana State Police Academy in December 2015 and has primarily patrolled Greene County.

INDIANAPOLIS – Governor Eric J. Holcomb is directing flags across the state to be flown at half-staff for the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service. Flags should be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Sunday, October 4. Gov. Holcomb also asks businesses and residents to lower their flags to half-staff on Sunday.

Driver who left a crash scene located, stopped and arrested

A Worthington man was arrested following a crash involving two vehicles late last night. He was reported to be passing multiple vehicles and hit the lead vehicle causing significant damage to both vehicles, but instead of stopping, he’s accused of leaving the scene. He was located and stopped about four miles away.

Rural Linton couple charged with dealing large quantities of methamphetamine

Warrants were issued in Greene County in July for a rural Linton couple believed to be dealing methamphetamine in large quantities to a large number of people in Greene and other counties. As a result of an ongoing investigation by the Greene County Drug Task Force, the two were taken into custody on US 41 in Sullivan County in July, allegedly transporting around four pounds of meth from out-of-state back to Greene County. They’re facing criminal charges in both counties. Both have now appeared in court in Greene County with bonds set at $100,000.
