Terry Joe House, 58, Linton, was arrested by Sgt. Bobby Pierce of the Greene County Sheriff’s Department early last Tuesday, September 22. He was scheduled to appear in court for an initial hearing this week.

Early last Tuesday, a 911 caller reported a physical altercation with his brother. He said his brother was throwing a fit, breaking things and that his brother had battered him.

Sgt. Pierce was dispatched but said Officer Kyle Robison of the Linton Police Department arrived first and secured the scene. When Sgt. Pierce arrived, Officer Robison told him when he entered the residence, House was sitting in a chair in the living room with a smoking device in his hand and a basket sitting next to him. He said House handed him the basket which contained two more smoking devices and a small clear plastic ziplock bag containing a white crystal substance that field-tested positive as methamphetamine.

When Sgt. Pierce talked to the brother, he said House had hit him on the wrist with a metal fire poker.

House said he had nothing to say and was transported to the Greene County Jail where he was booked in at 6:57 a.m. He was being held without bond pending court appearance this week. As of Wednesday morning, September 30, House had not posted bond and was still in jail.

House has been charged with:

  • Possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony,

  • Domestic battery, a Class A misdemeanor, and

  • Possession of paraphernalia, a Class C misdemeanor.
