When GCSD deputies were out looking for a wanted man, they stopped at a rural residence. They didn't find the wanted man but they came into contact with another man who was asked to get out of his truck and when he did, a bag of marijuana landed in front of a deputy.

The criminal investigation was initiated in July 2019. Luking resigned from the Vincennes Police Department in October 2019.
