On June 27, 2026, the City of Linton and surrounding areas received several inches of rain in a short period of time, resulting in significant flash flooding. Greene County Emergency Management is currently working with the Indiana Department of Homeland Security (IDHS) to assess the extent of the damage and determine the overall impact of the flooding.

The Linton Police Department announced that a juvenile, reported as a runaway this morning, has been located. Hunter Krus, a 16-year-old male, was reportedly last seen in the Linton area on June 28.
