Last week, after 33 years of dedicated service, Master Trooper Mark Clephane worked his final shift and went "Off Duty" by going 10-42 with the Indiana State Police. A few years ago, Trooper Clephane was awarded a Combat Action Award for assisting injured officers during a gun battle in Greene County.

ISP Bloomington increasing patrols to promote safe travels this Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is traditionally one of the busiest travel periods of the year. For 2021, AAA has estimated that 48.3 million Americans will travel by automobile over the Thanksgiving holiday; an 8% increase over 2020. The Indiana State Police in Bloomington wants to remind every motorist of the importance of driving responsibly during this holiday period. Troopers will join hundreds of law enforcement agencies across the state for the Safe Family Travel campaign. Over the next six weeks, officers will be out in greater numbers to discourage impaired driving and ensure drivers and passengers are properly buckled.

Sexton sentenced this morning

When Nathanael Sexton was arrested back in June 2018, he was accused of choking an ex-girlfriend, slamming her into the dashboard of his pickup truck and threatening to kill her. When his case went to trial this past October, a jury found him guilty of criminal confinement and battery resulting in bodily injury. His sentence was handed down earlier today during a hearing in Greene Superior Court.
