Last Friday, December 31, 2021, at approximately 6:13 p.m. Lawrence County Central Dispatch received a 911 call from the Springville Store at 60 Brick Street in Springville. The caller advised that he had been shot in the head and that it had occurred at another location.

A Greene County man, who was arrested in early January, was booked into the Lawrence County Jail then charged with dealing quantities of methamphetamine. He has been in jail since his arrest, awaiting a jury trial scheduled for late September. Early Thursday morning, he was found unresponsive in his cell.
