A 19-year-old Bloomfield woman appeared in Greene Superior Court on Nov. 14 for an initial hearing on charges of strangulation and domestic battery resulting in moderate bodily injury stemming from a Nov. 9 incident in Bloomfield. 

According to a press release from the Greene County Commissioners, Greene County is under a burn ban.

A Pineville, La., man appeared in Greene Superior Court Nov. 13 following a Nov. 6 arrest on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, and possession of paraphernalia. 

There will be no Jail Log or court news today as county offices are closed in observance of Veterans Day.

Election results are final and for contested town council races, Democrat John Bailey and Republican Gary Vandeventer Jr., walked away victorious. 

Election results are in for the Town of Worthington, and Republican Matt Baker has been elected as the town’s clerk-treasurer. 

The people have voted and Eric Siepman has been named the City of Jasonville’s mayor. 

The results are in and Republican John Preble has been elected as mayor of the City of Linton. 

Meng Funeral Home, Anderson-Poindexter Chapel is hosting a military appreciation lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 10 at 89 C Street Northwest in Linton. They invite all veterans and active military to come at their convenience and enjoy a meal and dessert with them. 

Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday for the Municipal Election for voters living in city/town limits of Bloomfield, Jasonville, Linton, and Worthington. 

Law enforcement officers set aside their official duties last night and took on the responsibilities of servers at Jack’s Place in Jasonville to help raise money for Project Lifesaver, an organization geared to benefit those suffering from Alzheimer’s, dementia, Down syndrome, and other cognitive conditions. 

A unique fundraiser to help Project Lifesaver, an organization geared to benefit those suffering from Alzheimer’s, dementia, Down syndrome, and other cognitive conditions, will be held this Thursday, Nov. 2 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Jack’s Place, located at 270 East Main Street in Jasonville. 

A summons to appear in court has been issued for a 30-year-old Solsberry woman after she allegedly took items from Linton Walmart in September and left the store without paying for them.
