Preble elected Mayor of Linton

The results are in and Republican John Preble has been elected as mayor of the City of Linton. 

He defeated Democrat Brent Murray by a vote of 577 to 378, earning 60.42 percent of the vote. 

In the only contested city council race, Republican Gregg Sapp defeated Jerry Ellett for the District 7 seat. Sapp amassed 64.94 percent of the votes. He tallied 150 votes, while Ellett had 81.

Democrat Claudia Walker was uncontested in the clerk-treasurer race.

For city council, Democrat Tony Richards was uncontested in District 3. Linda Bedwell, a Democrat, was uncontested in District 4. In District 5, Leslie Newman, a Democrat, was uncontested. Democrat Eddie Singleton was uncontested in District 6.
