Nov. 20 meeting scheduled for re-establish Grandview Cemetery Board
/Recently, Bloomfield community members have been meeting to re-establish the Grandview Cemetery Board. Grandview Cemetery has reached a critical financial state, and there are not enough funds to maintain the property. Grandview Cemetery is non-profit and the only income is the sale of burial plots and donations.
One of the first items that must be completed is to form an official board. A meeting has been scheduled for Monday, Nov. 20, 2023 at 6 p.m. in the south shelter house, Bloomfield Park. Candidates will be nominated and voted on at this meeting. An official board must be voted on by the Grandview Cemetery Association members. Members are those with the right of interment, meaning you own an open burial plot. The general public is welcome and encouraged to attend the meeting as well. We need your input. Anyone interested in being on the board please contact Denise Frederick at the number below.
The financial state of the cemetery is critical. This is due to rising prices, the lower number of plots being sold, and lower number of donations being made. If you are interested in making a donation below are the options. You will find additional information on the Facebook page, Grandview Cemetery, Bloomfield, Indiana
