Indiana State Police Fort Wayne Post Trooper Struck and Killed in the Line of Duty

(DeKalb County, IN)- The Indiana State Police is mourning the loss of one of its own as a result of a vehicle crash incident which occurred last Friday afternoon on Interstate 69 south of Auburn. The crash claimed the life of  Master Trooper James R. Bailey, 50, of Auburn, IN, who served with the Indiana State Police for more than fifteen years.

INDIANAPOLIS- Jacob Magness, 23, of Bloomington, Indiana, was sentenced to 70 months in federal prison for possession and distribution of fentanyl and other controlled substances. Magness spent a few days in the Greene County Jail back in August of 2021 on a charge of driving while suspended - a knowing violation with a prior conviction within 10 years.
