Governor directs flags to half-staff for victims of mass shooting at FedEx in Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS – Governor Eric J. Holcomb is directing flags across the state to be flown at half-staff in honor and remembrance of the victims of the mass shooting at the FedEx Ground facility in Indianapolis. Per the Governor’s order, flags should be flown at half-staff until sunset on Tuesday, April 20. Gov. Holcomb also asks businesses and residents to lower their flags to half-staff.

Monroe County - On Thursday afternoon, April 15, Indiana State Police Sergeant Greg Day of the Bloomington District A.C.E.S. (Aggressive Criminal Enforcement Section) was notified that Lance P. Dawson Jr., 19 years old of South Bend, Indiana, was possibly hiding out in Bloomington. Dawson, who was wanted on an active homicide-murder warrant that was issued on April 7 from St. Joseph County, had been tracked to the emergency room at IU Health Bloomington by utilizing various investigative techniques.
