Jesus Manuel Colon, 51, Linton, was arrested by Officer Dustin Cain of the Jasonville Police Department early Tuesday, April 13, on a warrant that was issued last August. Colon was booked into the Greene County Jail at 3:54 a.m.

Colon was the driver of a black Dodge Dakota pickup truck that was stopped by JPD Sgt. Brian Pilant on August 18, 2020. Sgt. Pilant was on patrol in Jasonville when he saw the truck pull out of Casey’s gas station going east on Main Street then north on Virgil Street. When the truck turned, he noticed the truck didn’t have any taillights and he initiated a traffic stop at North Virgil and Burr Oak streets.

Colon allegedly admitted he did not have a driver’s license and a records check showed he was a habitual traffic violator with a lifetime suspension

The truck was towed and Colon was released from the scene but a criminal case was filed against him later that month and a warrant issued for his arrest.

Colon is facing a charge of operating a motor vehicle after forfeiture of license for life, a Level 5 felony.

His bond was set at $10,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. As of late Wednesday, April 14, he had not yet posted bond and was still in jail.
