Carol Ann Sparks
/Carol Ann Sparks, 68, of Bloomfield, Indiana, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2024. Born on July 24, 1956, she was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend who left an indelible mark on the hearts of everyone she met.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Dorris and Ophia Sparks; her sisters and their husbands, Jean and Lloyd Harlan, and Betty and Chuck Miller; and her niece Melanie Walters. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Sue Sparks, and her cherished nieces and nephews: Melinda Moffitt, Mike Harlan, Monty Harlan, Michelle Goeglein, Chuck Miller, Jeff Miller, Jean-Ann Stump, Travis Sparks, Sawyer Sparks, and many more grand nieces and nephews.
A proud graduate of Bloomfield High School, Carol pursued higher education at Indiana University, earning both her undergraduate and master’s degrees.
Carol’s greatest joy was her family, especially her nieces and nephews. She had a special gift for making every child feel loved and welcomed. In their younger years, she delighted them with toys and endless hours of play. As they grew older, she became their companion for board games and adventurous farm explorations, building lasting memories. Along the way she captured countless photographs of every cherished moment.
Her days were filled with devotion to the family farm, where she worked tirelessly caring for the land and animals she loved. Whether feeding cattle, checking fences, or ensuring the safety of a newborn calf, Carol approached each task with care and dedication. She also had a passion for flowers and the beauty of nature, often pausing to appreciate the simple joys of rural life. She loved tending to her garden, watching the seasons change on the family farm, and ensuring every animal under her care thrived. A lifelong fan of the Indianapolis 500, Carol never missed the chance to attend the race and soak up the excitement of the iconic event with her family. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A celebration of Carol’s life will be held at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Indiana on Friday, January 3, 2025 at 2:00 pm. Public visitation will be held from 12:00 to 2:00 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Bear Lake Camp (https://www.bearlakecamp.com/).
