Charles M. ‘Bud’ White

Charles M. ‘Bud’ White, 95, of Jasonville, formerly of Switz City, Indiana, went to Heaven, with loving family by his side, on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at Serenity Springs Senior Living in Jasonville. He was born on August 28, 1929, in Marion, Indiana to Guy and Cecil A. (Chenoweth) White. Bud married Norma J. (Pierce) White on March 16, 1962.

Bud was a US Army Veteran, serving in the Korean War. He was a member of the Lebanon Baptist Church and Switz City Masonic Lodge #676 F & AM. He worked at Crane Naval Base as an electro plater and owned and operated D & J ‘Whitey’s’ Junk Yard, retiring January 1, 1996. Bud loved working his cattle, cleaning fence rows, picking through hidden treasures and being outside.

Family left to cherish the memories of Bud include: one son, Jerry A. (Kathy) White of Switz City; one daughter, Cathy L. (Doug) Herndon of Bloomfield; four grandchildren, Morgan (Jimmy) Delph, Cade (Kylee) Herndon, Jace (Becca) Herndon and Geoffrey White; eight great-grandchildren, Olivia, Rylee, Bria, Kylen, Ava, Boone, Brooks and Iris and one sister, Effie Williams of Lyons, IN.

Bud was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Norma White; son, Danny R. White; infant daughter, Connie Marie White; daughter-in-law, Barbara White and sister, Phyllis Pegden.

A Masonic Memorial Service with Switz City Masonic Lodge #676 F & AM will be at 1:00 PM, followed by Military Rites presented by the American Legion Post #22. Funeral service will be immediately following with Bro. Don Pierce officiating, on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton. Bud will be laid to rest in Switz City Cemetery.

Family and friends may call from 11:00 AM until time of service at 1:00 PM on Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Switz City Cemetery. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
