Jasonville driver arrested in Linton for meth possession
/During a traffic stop early last Friday, a Jasonville woman allegedly admitted she had a couple of bags of meth in the hood of her jacket.
Devon Denise Foreman, 38, Jasonville, was arrested by Officer Janzen Franklin of the Linton Police Department early last Friday, April 9.
Foreman was the driver of a silver 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo that was stopped by Officer Franklin around 1 a.m. last Friday for not having a license plate light.
During the stop, when Foreman was asked, she gave consent for the vehicle to be searched and Officer Franklin reported he found a smoking device with a white residue in the middle console area. The device field-tested positive for the presence of methamphetamine.
Foreman first denied the smoking device was hers then later admitted it did belong to her. During a search when she was taken into custody, she allegedly admitted she had meth in the hood of her jacket and Officer Franklin reported finding two Ziploc bags that contained white crystal-substances.
Foreman was booked into the Greene County Jail at 2:36 a.m. She was held without bond pending court appearance.
Yesterday, Tuesday, April 13, when she appeared in Greene Superior Court, she was charged with possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony, and possession of paraphernalia, a Class C misdemeanor. A public defender was appointed to represent her and her bond was set at $4,500 surety with ten percent cash allowed. She has since posted $450 bond and been released from jail.
