James O’Malley has been sworn in as Worthington Town Marshal. O’Malley reported for duty early Wednesday after the Worthington Town Council unanimously appointed him to the position on Tuesday evening. Council President Tom Franklin administered the oath in the Municipal Building sometime around 10 a.m. Marshal O’Malley has previously served several years at the Greene County Sheriff’s Department.

A Bloomfield man was convicted of driving while suspended in August. He apparently continued to drive. He was stopped by a Linton officer and accused of driving while suspended. Update, Arrested: Former Eastern Greene band director, more recently employed at Paoli

A warrant was issued Thursday for the arrest of a former high school band director previously employed in Greene County. He’s accused of felony dissemination of matter harmful to minors. According to court records, he no longer resides in this area. UPDATE with ARREST: Cory Alan Chapman, 33, was arrested on Friday, December 6. He turned himself in and was booked in to the Greene County Jail. The Monday morning Jail Log describes his offense as “obscenity/pornography, providing obscene material to minors.” He is facing a Level 6 felony. His bond was set at $4,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. He posted $400 and was released the same day as his arrest. Current court record and the jail log list Chapman with an address in West Lafayette. However, as of this morning, Monday, December 9, Chapman is listed as a member of the staff on the Paoli Junior-Senior High School webpage.

Saturday crash on Lone Tree Road and SR 48 results in fatality

One man lost his life and one woman suffered multiple injuries and was transported via AirEvac in a crash involving two vehicles around 5 p.m. Saturday on County Road 1000 West, also known as Lone Tree Road, and State Road 48. Richard T. Neighbors, 45, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, was pronounced deceased as a result of his injuries. He was transported to Greene County General Hospital by Greene County Ambulance E4.

Flags should be flown at half-staff from midnight to midnight on Saturday, December 7, 2019. Gov. Holcomb also asks businesses and residents in Indiana to lower their flags to half-staff on Saturday.
