Update, Arrested: Former Eastern Greene band director, more recently employed at Paoli

A warrant was issued Thursday for the arrest of a former high school band director previously employed in Greene County. He’s accused of felony dissemination of matter harmful to minors. According to court records, he no longer resides in this area. UPDATE with ARREST: Cory Alan Chapman, 33, was arrested on Friday, December 6. He turned himself in and was booked in to the Greene County Jail. The Monday morning Jail Log describes his offense as “obscenity/pornography, providing obscene material to minors.” He is facing a Level 6 felony. His bond was set at $4,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. He posted $400 and was released the same day as his arrest. Current court record and the jail log list Chapman with an address in West Lafayette. However, as of this morning, Monday, December 9, Chapman is listed as a member of the staff on the Paoli Junior-Senior High School webpage.

Information from Eastern Greene Schools as released by Center-Jackson Fire on Sunday morning: As of August 26th, 2019, Eastern Greene Schools will resume normal operations after several different agencies tested the air inside of the school. All of these tests came back negative for any harmful substances.

UPDATE around 7:45 p.m. = Eastern Greene Schools will be closed tomorrow, Friday, August 23. Tests are underway to insure air quality. ………. Around 6:30 p.m., Thursday, August 22, Center-Jackson Fire released the following information: “There has been a hazardous material incident at the Eastern Greene Middle School. Some people have been transported to area hospitals for observation. There are no major injuries at this time. The state Fire Marshall’s office is on scene investigating, along with local fire departments. There is no gas leak in the school. As we have more information available we will update. Please disregard rumors on social media. Can follow Center-Jackson Fire Territory social media for updates on official information.”

Sentence includes $4,826 restitution in case of Eastern-Greene football field damage and track hurdle theft

One of the four individuals accused of damaging the football field and stealing track hurdles at Eastern-Greene High School last April was in court this month to admit guilt and be sentenced. In addition to doing some time in jail or work release followed by probation, he’s been ordered to pay $4,826 in restitution to the school.

Four accused in incident involving damage to Eastern-Greene football field, theft of track hurdles

Four individuals are in trouble for allegedly being involved in an incident in which the football field was damaged and track hurdles were stolen at Eastern-Greene High School in April. After an investigation, criminal cases were filed in early May against four suspects - two are juveniles, one has been summoned to court on misdemeanor charges and the fourth was just booked into jail late Thursday evening on felony and misdemeanor charges.
