James "Jamie" J. Taylor
/James "Jamie" J. Taylor, age 49, of Worthington, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at his home. He was born in Muncie on July 3, 1975, the son of John Michael "Mike" and Cinda S. (Burch) Taylor.
Jamie was a 1994 graduate of White River Valley High School. He was employed as an operator at Rogers Group for the past eight years, proudly holding membership in the Operators Union #841 of Terre Haute.
He loved helping his friends and others with farming and livestock. He also loved hunting turkey and rabbits. Anyone who knew Jamie understood he lived and breathed deer hunting. The world stopped from October to January when his favorite place to be was a tree stand. He loved the time he spent deer hunting with his dad, Briar, Lee, Mark, Will, Abby, Chad, Alex, and Zachary. During the off-season, the only place he wanted to be was at a casino with his wife, Jill, and planning their next trip to Vegas. He enjoyed the outdoors and time spent fishing. His daily routine, after 10 hour work days, was feeding his four beagles, Rowdy, Kimber, Copper, and JJ. He would then go inside and put on his "fat pants", and spend the evening watching Vegas Matt. Jamie's never-ending friendship, memories, and love will always remain in the heart of all that knew him.
Jamie is survived by his wife of eighteen years, Jill R. (Spainhower) Taylor; his parents; his son, Briar James Taylor; two daughters, Rebecca Jerrells (Levi) and Abigayle Reynolds (fiance-Vedder Rogers); three grandchildren, Harlan "H", Haizlee "Haizee Bear", and Hendrix "Big Chief"; his twin sister, Jama Moody; a brother, Shawn Taylor (Kari); nephews, Seth Phillips, Mason Taylor, and Ethan Taylor; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jim and Ginger Spainhower; his brother-in-law, Lee Spainhower; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends that were like family.
Private visitation will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Worthington.
