Steven Dwayne Hubbard

Steven Dwayne Hubbard, 43, of Linton, passed away peacefully at his home on his favorite day of the year, Christmas Day, December 25, 2025. Born on November 24, 1982, in Linton, Indiana, Steven was the son of Dwayne Hubbard and Stephanie (Morley) Lewis, who raised him with strong family values, a love of nature, and an easygoing spirit that drew people to him.

A proud 2001 graduate of White River Valley High School, Steven carried his small-town roots with him wherever he went. Over the years, he devoted his hard work and good humor to several companies, including Walmart, Cook Medical, and Pioneer. No matter the job, Steven took pride in giving his best and was known for his reliability, friendly smile, and ability to connect with anyone.

Steven's greatest joy came from the outdoors. Whether setting off early in the morning to fish, spending weekends camping, or wandering the woods in search of mushrooms, he found peace and reflection in nature. His happiest days were often the simplest - sitting by a campfire, sharing laughter, telling stories, and soaking in life's quiet moments.

Faith was an important part of Steven's life. As a member of Worthington Assembly of God Church, he found community and comfort in his belief and shared his compassion with those around him.

Steven's memory will be cherished by his loving family: his mother, Stephanie (Jack) Lewis; his father, Dwayne Hubbard; his daughter, Abby Hubbard; his brothers, Brandon Hubbard (BJ Harris) and Dale Mitchell III (Emily); sister, Sara Glover (Jason); step-sister, Nichole Berry (Ben); maternal grandmother, Nan Arnold; his former wife, April Foster; aunts and uncles; nieces and nephews; and his faithful dog, Bandit.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Steven Morley; paternal grandparents, Barbara (Hubbard) Hill and Jerry Hubbard, Sr.; and step-sister, Tori Lewis.

Steven's life will be remembered for the kindness he showed, the laughter he brought, and the love he gave so freely. He leaves behind a legacy of warmth, hard work, and devotion that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Funeral service will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton, Walton Funeral Service, at 2:00 PM on Monday, January 12, 2026, with Rev. Davy Dyer officiating.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 12:00 Noon until the time of service.
